Dr Toh Wai Keong Memorial Fund
Dear all,
We are a group of friends who have come together and decided to do something collectively for Wai Keong and his family. To commemorate his life, we plan to create a memorial fund by canvassing for donations from all who has ever crossed paths with him, and donate the collection to either:
1. A charitable organization/medical support group in Wai Keong's name; or
2. Wai Keong's family members.
The decision on how this fund is to be used will be made after the funeral, in consultation with his family. We will convey the decision to all contributors when it is confirmed. To ensure that this exercise does not in any way compromise the immediate financial needs of the family, we humbly request that the contributions to this fund be made on top of your personal contributions at the wake. We thought this could also be a means for those who are not able to make it to the wake to contribute.
If you are comfortable with this arrangement and believe that it is a meaningful way to remember Wai Keong, please reply to this email (in_memory_of_wk@yahoo.com.sg) indicating your intention to participate. We will then send you the number of a bank account specially opened for this purpose. Your contributions can then be made to this account, either via cheques or electronic transfers. To let the contributions come into fruition soon, this account will be terminated on 4th Dec 2006.
The fund is set up both in honour of Wai Keong, as well as a platform for a final gesture from his friends to him. Hence, while we are aware that it may or may not accrue to a very large sum, we feel that it is not important. As such, we welcome any amount. Due to the nature of the collection, all donations will also be anonymous. Finally, please forward this message to others who might want to contribute within their ability
Thank you.
