Thick faced n Black Hearted Villain

Souplad has gone MIA for exactly a month.

FSP and some have been sending him sms, emails, catching him over msn and on the streets asking him where and what the hell is he doing over this month.

He has left his comfort nest and venture into another deep sh*t hole....

come on.. at least he is paid much more to KIO SAI (literally means picking sh*t. Colloquially means to fix some mess)...

********************************************************************************
Folks in Batam and PTP are interesting people to deal with. Witnessing the cronyism, corruption, politics, bureaucracy, red tapes, whistle blowing oozing out from the f**king-in-your-face Pandora’s box, left me jaw, ear n eyes wide opened... yeah, this had been quite a culture shock.

Lately, our MM LKY visited Batamindo (an industrial park in Batam island). Knowing him as a no-nonsense chap, he interrupted some opening presentation and demanded an explanation on the falling investments in this industrial park. After gaining a subtle approval (A nod)from an important official, the poor lady who was doing the presentation utter "corruption".... this is followed by a short and uneasy silence....

Anyway, having the chance to work in foreign lands (previously in Shanghai) over the past few months has validated my claims that Singaporeans are generally more naive, fragile and pampered. I know generalisation is a dangerous thing to engage...but this is a conclusion that I have drawn after being surrounded by many foreign-talents friends and colleague.

I think it had to do with the upbringing and the fact that most of them are relatively more independent, street smart, resourceful, diplomatic and shrewder than Singaporeans. Most of my non-Singaporean friends have their first experience of living independently at the age of 18 (or earlier). I think this is how most of them have developed these survival skills and became more competitive and stronger.

In short, they believe the goals justify the means to achieve them as well as the wisdom of "get over it and move on" i.e. "Forgetting the mistakes that they have made or others have made and move on..." Generally, I believe Singaporeans are pretty weak to realise this " THICK-FACE BLACK-HEART wisdom". Apparently, I have seen and felt this wisdom oozing out from foreign talents of China, India and Malaysia.

I have been admonished by some of my respected mentors not to fight but try to embrace their wisdom and learn from these foreign talents. For now I can only say I do not hate them but that doesn't mean I like them or rather, more diplomatically I do not agree the way they handle issues. Agree to disagree. I am learning fast huh...

Besides work, I have been busy meeting up with friends and biz gurus over many evenings and weekends to discuss the possibility of some online biz ... I will update once I got all things sorted out.

To all my kakis and brudders.... I promised I will find time to LA KOPI and play a few rounds of MJ with you. And please stop asking me when I am getting married, have I started to look for a girlfriend, am I gay? It's f**king irritating. You guys should know the reasons after so many years. I have already told u guys.. its really not easy to shoulder heavy responsibilities. Not easy to be me...get it? So next time when we met, please shut the f**k up, BEO more chicks and drink more beer.

That is for now...

Work hard, drink hard, play hard, f**k hard.
