A Forty Something Ah Yi and A Twenty-Something Souplad

Everybody calls her "Ah Yi" (auntie). A 40-something petite lady who diligently ensures the entire admin building is spick and span 24/7. I can feel her warm and simple hospitality despite my cynnic nature. There she appears at my cubicle with bananas and some XIAO LONG BAO, reminding me to take more food as it is getting colder this weekend.

I am pretty moved by her persistant caring nature but not Souplad.

Souplad is a total stranger to her. Souplad doubted her kindness and hospitality. I wonder why souplad doubted Ah Yi.

I was told by my boss she cared for everyone in the company. This somehow crushes souplad's cynnical thoughts of special treatment to a foreign guest

Her behaviour reminded me about the twenty-something Souplad.

Souplad was a caring twenty-something.

Perhaps circumstances had made Souplad a caring twenty-something. Thoughtful, sensitive, helpful and approachable were some common adjectives used to describe the twenty-something souplad.

I'm afraid souplad isn't a great person afterall. I believe circumstances had conditioned and moulded him to be thoughtful and caring. It must be tough on a twenty-something to think so much and shoulder inevitable heavy responsibities.

A final trigger had finally made souplad come out of this shell. Reborn.

Probably a smarter, cynnical, purposeful, realistic and practical thirty-something.

Souplad believes this society will continue to misunderstand and remain cynnical about kindness. Souplad has learnt this important lesson. A valuable lesson from a good friend. A lesson about everything. Everything comes with a price tag. Be it an ulterior motive, or something more tangible....money and sex.

Money is real.

2 bananas are real

A foam box of XIAO LONG BAO is real

A kind Ah Yi is probably real.

While most of the rest are bullshit and remain as fake as Pamela's breasts.

A Kind Lady Part III

Here's she comes with another plate of danish cookies plus cafe mocca. This time 4 stacks of 4.

I heard from my boss today we are going to have pizzas for lunch. Yucks.

I believe souplad should just shut up and eat. = )

A Kind Lady Part II

No Guabana, Here she comes with a big tin of danish cookies.

I took a miserable piece from the tin.

Not satisfied with me taking only one piece, she places 2 stacks of 4 on my desk and say "Bu yao ke qi, bie e huai le" (Please don't stand on ceremony. Don't starve yourself"

haiz....How not to become fat wor.. if AH YI continue to feed me like dat?

A Kind Lady

I have been having difficulty taking lunch prepared by my factory's canteen. The food was extremely salty and oily! I have started to bring my own lunch since my second day of work.

Knowing that I could not get used to the food prepared by the canteen, the caretaker Ah Yi (auntie) was very concern that I might starved. She started asking what would I like to eat for lunch and she will go get them for me.

I was terribly sorry for causing so much trouble. I casually said that I prefer fruits and vegetables for lunch. I told her I can bring my own lunch. She seemed to be unconvinced that fruits and vegetables can made up a decent lunch. A few minutes later she appeared with a big plate of salad with bacon toppings and some bananas.

She would check at least twice day whether I am hungry. Ok.. I know souplad is a C LAI SART SAO (attracts auntie). Damn. How I wish I am some chick-magnet.

Even my mother would not do that. Sorry Ma!

Today, she appeared punctually at my desk with 2 handfuls of fruits. I was embarrased and I insisted that I would get them myself. I thanked her profusely.

I wonder what will I have for tommorrow. Let's try some exotic ones ..hmmm...GUANABANA

Massage and Shanghai Babes

This is my fifth day in Shanghai.

I was showered with concerns and well wishes from my friends for the past couple of days. Numerous emails, sms and msn buzzes... sure they warm me up a lil, preventing my butts from freezing in the harsh and bitter-cold Shanghai. Appreciate that!!

Somehow, I realise that most of the concerns were "Did u manage to get any shanghai babes?"

One of them even pointed out a so-called validated pick up line "XIAO JIE, WO YAO KEN NI PAI ZHAO" (Miss, I wan to take a picture with you).

I almost fell off my chair. Wanted to holler at my friend "Kan Ni Neh, so damn TI KO PEK. Souplad no TI KO PEK ok? Probably TI KO but not PEK." Ha ha ...
He really cheer me while I was having my lunch.

In fact, I was approached by numerous Shanghai babes at least a dozen times for the pass 5 days in Shanghai. No Kidding!!!

Just when I thought and felt like an adonis, they uttered "Xian Sheng, wan massage?".

I was very tempted to say " I massage u, can?"

Yes one of them really look like her. No shit!

Souplad in Shanghai

I was busy for the past week preparing for an overseas posting in Shanghai.

One thing I found out, blogspot is banned in Shanghai! The local broadband operators had Blogspot in their barring list. Shit!

So u must be wondering how the hell I manage to sneak through the Chinese Firewall.

Let it be a mystery.

It is now freezing outside. Only 10 degree C. There will be a cold front heading towards shanghai tommorrow. Temperature may dip to 3 degree C.

Today is my first working day in Shanghai. I am very excited about the new working environment. I hope this will make me forget about the bullshit I had and the fucked up people I met back home.

Everything is new here.

New faces, new environment, new air ( it's fucking polluted here) and a new souplad.

It shall be a blessing. An opportunity to heal.

I shall be working hard. Frankly, I don't seem to miss anybody back home. (Probably, it's a little to soon to make this claim)

A new souplad, I promise, I will and shall be.
